Reducing Construction Hiring Delays

Unfilled positions hold up programmes. Simple steps that shorten the time between identifying a need and getting someone on site.

Plan ahead where you can

Many urgent requirements are visible weeks in advance on the programme. Flagging upcoming phases early gives more time to find people who fit, rather than whoever is free on Monday.

Make the brief complete the first time

Delays often come from going back and forth on basic details. Confirm these before the search starts:

  • Role, number of people and start date
  • Site location and working hours
  • Essential versus preferred experience
  • Tickets and induction requirements
  • Rate or salary range

Decide quickly on good candidates

Strong construction candidates are usually considering more than one option. Agree in advance who will review profiles and how quickly interviews can be arranged.
